Funing County Chemical Wastewater Treatment Project

Project Overview

  • Located in the Chemical Industrial Park of Funing County, the company is a private technology-driven enterprise specializing in organic bromination and chlorination fine chemicals, as well as pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates. Its core product portfolio includes organobromine series such as bromoethane, bromopropane, and bromobenzene.
  • The project is designed with a wastewater treatment capacity of 150 m³/d, with equipment installation and commissioning now completed.
  • The wastewater stream primarily originates from bromination and chlorination organic synthesis processes, containing halogenated organics and intermediate residues. With significant fluctuations in COD and color intensity, complex composition, and poor biodegradability, it is classified as a typical refractory fine chemical wastewater.

Key Technical Challenges

  • The high concentration of halogenated organics presents significant degradation challenges, necessitating enhanced pretreatment for ring cleavage and dehalogenation to reduce toxicity before the wastewater can be introduced into the biological treatment system.
  • Strict source-segregation and multi-stream pretreatment of high-strength wastewater must be implemented to ensure the stable operation of the biological system.

Process Flow

  • High-strength wastewater: Wastewater Equalization Tank → Iron-Carbon Micro-Electrolysis → Fenton System → Biochemical Feed Tank
  • Other low-concentration wastewater: Other low-concentration wastewater → Biochemical Feed Tank
  • Combined wastewater: Biochemical Feed Tank → Anaerobic Tank → A/O Tank → Secondary Sedimentation Tank → Activated Carbon Adsorption → Clear Water Tank → Industrial Park WWTP
