Project Overview
- Located in the High-Tech Industrial Zone of Xinyu, Jiangxi, the company is a state-level high-tech enterprise and a recognized green factory, specializing in the R&D and production of food flavors, fragrances, and fine chemicals.
- The project is designed with a wastewater treatment capacity of 200 m³/d, with equipment installation and commissioning now completed.
- The wastewater stream contains organic pollutants such as dichloromethane, hexanedione, ethanol, toluene, furfural, flavors and fragrances, and various intermediates, alongside inorganic pollutants including inorganic salts and sulfides. With total dissolved solids exceeding 50,000 mg/L, the wastewater is classified as high-salinity wastewater.
Key Technical Challenges
- The wastewater contains halogenated hydrocarbons, furfural, and heterocyclic flavor and fragrance intermediates, resulting in extremely poor biodegradability—classifying it as a notoriously difficult-to-treat wastewater stream.
- The combined wastewater exhibits high salinity, which poses significant toxicity to microorganisms.
- Intermittent production and frequent product changeovers cause pulsed fluctuations in both water quality and flow rate, necessitating enhanced source-segregation and multi-stream pretreatment.
- Effective synergistic control is required for high-concentration recalcitrant organic pollutants, high salinity, high toxicity, strong odors, and color. The core objective is to improve biodegradability, stabilize the biological treatment system, and ensure effluent quality meets discharge standards.
Process Flow
- Production wastewater:Production wastewater → Collection & Equalization Tank → Iron-Carbon Micro-Electrolysis → Fenton System → Three-Effect Evaporation Desalination System → Biochemical Feed Tank
- Other low-concentration wastewater:Other low-concentration wastewater → Biochemical Feed Tank
- Combined wastewater: Biochemical Feed Tank → High-Efficiency Anaerobic Reactor → A/O Tank → Secondary Sedimentation Tank → Ozone Oxidation Tank → Effluent Discharge Tank → Industrial Park WWTP
