Complexed nickel, chromium, and other stable heavy metal species are difficult to remove, making consistent long-term compliance challenging with conventional treatment processes.<\/li>\n<li>The wastewater exhibits high salinity and extremely poor biodegradability.<\/li>\n<li>Strict implementation of source-segregated and separate pretreatment is required for chromium-bearing, nickel-bearing, and fluoride-bearing wastewater streams, ensuring precise control over the removal of highly toxic pollutants and various heavy metals at the source.<\/li>\n<li>Enhanced de-complexation and precipitation of complexed heavy metals, coupled with oxidative treatment of refractory COD, must be strengthened to ensure compliant effluent
