Project Overview

  • An electroplating center in Yancheng specializes in metal and non-metal surface treatment, covering processes such as zinc plating, chromium plating, imitation gold plating, and anodizing, with an annual processing capacity exceeding 170,000 tons.
  • The project is designed with a wastewater treatment capacity of 1,200 m³/d, and all equipment installation and process commissioning have now been fully completed.

 

Key Technical Challenges

  • The industrial park handles a wide variety of wastewater streams with significant fluctuations in water quality and flow rate. Complexed nickel, chromium, and other stable heavy metal species are difficult to remove, making consistent long-term compliance challenging with conventional treatment processes.
  • The wastewater exhibits high salinity and extremely poor biodegradability.
  • Strict implementation of source-segregated and separate pretreatment is required for chromium-bearing, nickel-bearing, and fluoride-bearing wastewater streams, ensuring precise control over the removal of highly toxic pollutants and various heavy metals at the source.
  • Enhanced de-complexation and precipitation of complexed heavy metals, coupled with oxidative treatment of refractory COD, must be strengthened to ensure compliant effluent discharge.

  • Nickel-chromium wastewater: Nickel-chromium wastewater → Nickel-Chromium Reduction Physicochemical System → Nickel-bearing Biological Treatment System → Comprehensive Wastewater Collection Tank
  • Nickel-bearing wastewater: Nickel-bearing wastewater → Nickel-bearing Physicochemical System → Nickel-bearing Biological Treatment System → Comprehensive Wastewater Collection Tank
