Anaerobic Reactor

Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor (AFBR):The Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor (AFBR) is a highly efficient biological membrane treatment process. It utilizes materials with large specific surface areas—such as sand—as carriers. Anaerobic microorganisms attach to the surface of the sand or other carrier media in the form of biofilms. As the carriers remain in a fluidized state within the wastewater, the microorganisms come into contact with organic pollutants, adsorbing and decomposing them to achieve effective treatment.

This anaerobic reactor is among the first in both domestic and international anaerobic treatment applications to use sand as a carrier. The equipment features a dual-cylinder structure (inner and outer cylinders). A specially designed axial-flow pump circulates the wastewater together with the sand—which carries the biological film—through the outer cylinder, achieving fluidization and enhancing treatment performance.
