Characteristics of medical wastewater:
1. Large fluctuations in water volume; during daytime peak clinic hours, the discharge is significantly higher than at night, with pronounced instantaneous peak loads.
2. The concentration of pollutants is not high, with COD generally ranging from 150 to 300 mg/L and BOD5 from 80 to 150 mg/L, indicating good biodegradability.
3. Wastewater composition varies greatly, and wastewater from certain departments requires separate treatment (such as Infectious Diseases, Radiology, etc.).
4. The wastewater contains pathogenic organisms, including pathogenic microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, parasite eggs, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, etc.) and other infectious agents.
The designed treatment capacity for this project is 200 m³/d.
Process flow:
Hospital wastewater → bar screen chamber → equalization tank → hydrolysis-acidification tank → contact oxidation tank → secondary sedimentation tank → disinfection tank → dechlorination tank
